PRIME Uganda Celebrates WMHD
The team from PRIME Uganda joined in commemorating World Mental Health Day at Busoga Square in the country's Jinja district on the 10th of November this year.
Together with the Uganda Ministry of Health, the Refugee Law Project, StrongMinds, the Epilepsy Support Association Uganda and other like-minded organisations, PRIME Uganda advocated for improved mental health in the workplace – in line with the theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health for its international commemoration of the day in October.
PRIME Uganda's recommendations for a mentally healthy workplace was also featured in the local New Vision newspaper:
"As we commemorate this day, the Ministry of Health recognizes the collaboration and work by mental health care partners such as the Programme for Improving Mental health care (PRIME); which has been implementing a mental health programme in Kamuli District to ensure an evidence based integration of mental health into primary health care."
